Preschool Curriculum

Prime Years Academy employs a play-based, open educational approach within self-contained classrooms. Our curriculum is grounded in developmental stages, children’s unique characteristics, needs, and interests. Rather than following a single curriculum model, it integrates a collection of research-based developmental theories. This philosophy recognizes children as active participants who influence their own behavior as they engage with their environment.

The program emphasizes the development of fine and gross motor skills, socialization, literacy (reading and writing), problem-solving, and creativity—all nurtured through play. These foundational skills support all future learning.

Children have the freedom to choose from a variety of activities within dedicated learning centers. These activities span art, science, math, music, language development, dramatic play, reading readiness, listening skills, outdoor exploration, and field trips.

Our teachers thoughtfully guide children by intentionally providing enriching experiences, both indoors and outdoors, that foster growth across all developmental domains.

Arabic And Islamic Curriculum

Prime Years Academy is proud to integrate a uniquely developed Islamic Education program into the daily experiences of our students. This age-appropriate program is designed to nurture a child’s spiritual development while fostering a strong Islamic identity. It is guided by three core principles:

  • Every child is born with an innate pure nature (Fitrah) that inclines them to know and love Allah (SWT).

  • The early years are the prime years for establishing a firm spiritual foundation.

  • The love of Allah (SWT) and His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the cornerstone of all Islamic learning.

In addition, recognizing the central role of the Arabic language in accessing the Qur'an, Hadith, and the vast body of preserved Islamic knowledge, our program introduces children to Arabic in an engaging, age-appropriate manner. Children are exposed to common Arabic words, sounds, and symbols, building familiarity with the language that forms the foundation of their faith.
